Paper processing

Sharp edges, sensitive surfaces – our polyurethane elastomers help you in the further processing of paper or cardboard packaging

Polyurethane products are not necessarily the first choice in paper production. However, in the subsequent processing of paper and cardboard there can be a need to protect many meters of sensitive materials from sharp edges – these are the applications where high-performance elastomers show their advantages: for cutting, folding, transportation, piling, punching, printing, varnishing, coating, embossing, etc.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF PUR COMPARED WITH RUBBER?

Polyurethanes differ from natural or synthetic rubber in a number of special features, such as:

  • outstanding wear- and abrasion resistance
  • high tensile strength
  • good damping and resilience
  • high tear resistance
  • good electrical properties
  • high resistance to mineral oil and fuel
  • high rebound elasticity over the full hardness range
